D\u2019un c\u00f4t\u00e9 des textes \u00e9crits en anglais et en fran\u00e7ais (qui traduit quoi) apparaissent \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9cran \u00e0 des vitesses variables et selon plusieurs modalit\u00e9s rythmiques, de l\u2019autre c\u00f4t\u00e9 sur la bande-son : des voix d\u2019hommes. Les discours et les exp\u00e9riences du sida se croisent et font surgir par la fragmentation des modes d\u2019\u00e9nonc\u00e9s qui articulent le politique au subjectif selon des modalit\u00e9s visuelles particuli\u00e8res.<br \/>\nLe sida n\u2019a pas disparu avec la trith\u00e9rapie. On le banalise pour mieux l\u2019occulter. Ce film inscrit aux travers de confrontations, des ruptures dans notre appr\u00e9hension du VIH et du sida.<br \/>\nEngagement d\u2019un individu face \u00e0 une civilisation qui promeut la disparition comme mode de vie. Il s\u2019agit d\u2019affirmer une alt\u00e9rit\u00e9 dans cette belle homog\u00e9n\u00e9it\u00e9 aseptis\u00e9e. Au regard du th\u00e8me, cette musique r\u00e9sonne de fa\u00e7on ind\u00e9cidable (du moins en ce qui me concerne) entre commentaire ironique de la situation (go\u00fbt du d\u00e9calage), m\u00e9lancolie et expression m\u00e9tonymique d\u2019une volont\u00e9, d\u2019une pr\u00e9sence. C\u2019est tout cela \u00e0 la fois : aiguiser une critique sans oublier les autres et tout en affirmant une existence. D\u00e9j\u00e0 le titre, Still Life, \u00ab toujours en vie \u00bb suppose une douleur, celle \u00e9prouv\u00e9e face \u00e0 l\u2019h\u00e9catombe parmi les malades, un trouble (\u00ab pourquoi pas moi ? \u00bb), mais aussi une r\u00e9sistance (\u00e0 l\u2019exclusion, \u00e0 la fatalit\u00e9) : toujours l\u00e0. Enfin ce terme est aussi l\u2019\u00e9quivalent anglais de \u00ab nature morte \u00bb&#8230; Le rapport complexe \u00e0 cette \u0153uvre alliant d\u00e9calage (d\u00e9construction) et proposition (construction) se r\u00e9sout dans une autre logique qui nous fait ressentir notre propre difficult\u00e9 \u00e0 concevoir la pluralit\u00e9, l\u2019int\u00e9rieur et l\u2019ext\u00e9rieur, le priv\u00e9 et le public&#8230; La \u00ab d\u00e9stabilisation \u00bb du spectateur, par cette combinaison intense de sensations et de significations, est une juste manifestation au regard du drame multidimensionnel abord\u00e9. Le seul moyen d\u2019affronter la somme d\u2019informations transmises, c\u2019est l\u2019\u00e9nergie qui traverse le film. Et celui-ci, alors vigoureux appel \u00e0 vigilance, notamment \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9gard des m\u00e9diatisations de la maladie, \u00e9vite une attitude mortif\u00e8re. Le passage entre personnel et politique, men\u00e9 comme un besoin profond, renouvelle (r\u00e9veille) fortement notre id\u00e9e de la maladie, en la resituant dans une vision panoramique. Et donc au-del\u00e0 du sida &#8211; ce n\u2019est pas un film sur le sida\u00a0-, c\u2019est la d\u00e9fense globale d\u2019une conscience alerte et ouverte qui est signifi\u00e9e. On the one hand using textual material in both English and French which appears on screen at different speeds and rhythms, and on the other, articulated by the appearance of human voice on the sound track.<br \/>\nBoth the observations and experiences concerning AIDS overlap with one another and emerge in fragmentary form, whereby the policies persued regarding this subject are represented through the application of specific visual modalities.<br \/>\nAIDS hasn\u2019t disappear as a new result of tritherapy : AIDS is being trivialized to make it easier to conceal.
