On sort de la gare, on prend le m\u00e9tro. Espace de consommation et de d\u00e9ambulation, esp\u00e8ce d\u2019espace ou l\u2019image de soi est renvoy\u00e9 aux flux des images.<br \/>\nNous sommes en mai 2003, \u00e0 l\u2019occasion d\u2019un s\u00e9jour au Japon. Ce jour l\u00e0- je montre \u00e0 Matthias M\u00fcller un endroit \u00e0 partir duquel il est possible de filmer ce carrefour de Shibuya. Nous allons au dixi\u00e8me \u00e9tage d\u2019un grand magasin, sur une terrasse am\u00e9nag\u00e9e avec un mini -terrain de foot. En cette fin d\u2019apr\u00e8s-midi, des adolescents jouent, dans notre dos alors que nous nous d\u00e9cidons \u00e0 filmer. En se perchant sur une rambarde m\u00e9tallique, il est possible d\u2019apercevoir le carrefour en bas afin de le filmer acrobatiquement.<br \/>\nCe qui attire le regard ici n\u2019est pas tant le nombre de personnes qui attendent avant de traverser le carrefour dans tous sens que les images qui s\u2019\u00e9tagent dans l\u2019espace de ce carrefour, d\u00e9multipliant les lignes de fuite, les aplats, les pauses et les tensions.<br \/>\nIl s\u2019agit d\u2019une suite de plans l\u00e9g\u00e8rement trafiqu\u00e9s qui favorise l\u2019errance du regard.<br \/>\nRep\u00e9rer et suivre dans cet ensemble mouvant, privil\u00e9gier du regard une trajectoire.<br \/>\nCasser la continuit\u00e9 par l\u2019\u00e9tirement et la rupture.<br \/>\nUne d\u00e9rive de l\u2019\u0153il.<\/p>\n<p>La projection au sol permet de redonner \u00e0 cette image trafiqu\u00e9e la dynamique de sa captation.<\/p>\n<p>Shot from the top of a shopping building looking over Tokyo\u2019s Shibuya square.
